This year, we purchased a large collection of children’s toys to donate to OrphanCared, a charitable foundation that helps orphans and underprivileged families both in local communities and across the sea in developing African countries. The toys we donated will be given to children in need. By adding just one more smile on a child’s face this holiday season, we can all make the world a much brighter place.
We recently spent a morning at a local Walmart’s toy department to load up three shopping carts full of toys. From Barbie dolls to Tonka Trucks, we grabbed a whole variety of fun toys for the children. OrphanCared’s founder and president, Else Bollanga, nearly came to tears when she arrived to collect our donations. As an African orphan herself, Else started the charity to try and help others improve their socioeconomic status, just like she did.
